At its September 9 meeting, the School District 197 School Board welcomed seniors Itzel Cervantes Cardoso and David Skadron as the board’s student representatives for the 2020-2021 school year.
National Merit has recognized Henry Sibley High School senior Natalie Meyers as a semifinalist in their annual, highly selective scholarship competition.
Free meals are now available to all children in School District 197 (ages 1-18). The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced it will waive all fees for school meals through December 31, 2020 (or earlier if funding runs out). This is an extension of the summer meals program that provided meals to families throughout distance learning last spring and into the summer.
Starting Saturday, July 25, Governor Tim Walz has directed that masks or face coverings must be worn throughout Minnesota in all indoor public spaces. This new rule includes school buildings and indoor facilities and applies to all staff and students (kindergarten and older).
